Bruudom

Hey, my name is Bruudom or C. I've been a GM/T500 player in Overwatch for many seasons off since release. I then went on to play on a few tier 2 teams where we managed to win many online tournaments. I've also gotten to high ranks in other games such as Valorant where I was an Immortal ranked player early on. I again went on to play on a few tier 2 teams in Valorant, placing in the quarterfinals or better in every online tournament we played. For awhile I then switched to playing a lot of aim trainers, where I have the complete Grandmaster rank in the Voltaic benchmarks and got rank 16 in Diabotical. I also have many top 25 or better scores on popular maps. I've always had an analytical approach to gaming and training which is why I'm able to switch between games and explain my thought process to others. My coaching journey probably started on my early Overwatch team where, as a close group of people we would have countless hour discussions on game theory, mechanics and strategy. I've always had a passion for both teaching and philosophy so my thoughts on gaming is based around having fundamental understanding of what to do and how to go about it. Since then I've coached many different students and friends and learned how to apply the knowledge I have to make sense to someone with a different mind. After having coached so many different personalities I feel like I can always find a way to help someone think in a different way to make progress. In my opinion this is the most important thing. Sometimes it just takes a different point of view or angle on how you play to know how to move forward. Most sessions start with us talking about where you're at as a player, and then where you want to go. We'll talk about some game concepts based on what direction you want to go in, then afterward I spectate you in game. I prefer doing live games over vods, it feels to me like a more organic sample of your play but more importantly I think it's important to actually apply what we just talked about immediately. Every game has countless scenarios, so rather than going over a specific example of what you could have done, I believe it's important to change the way you think about what to do. This way will give you the tools to build yourself as a player throughout our session as well as for the rest of your gaming career. Here's a session I recorded in case you're curious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eq_-KqiTYJw&t (there are many more on the channel as well)
