Hey everyone! I am Commonly, or Ali. I have been playing Halo since I was 8 years old, and have been a professional player since I was 18, since 2016. I am an X-Games Gold Medalist, and I have attended over 25 tournaments with an array of top 8, top 6, top 4, and top 2 placings. I have won one major tournament, X-Games Aspen 2016. I have always regarded myself as more of an intelligent player than a “cracked” one, and I want to use my knowledge of the game to help others who are trying to level up their gameplay. As someone who was an amateur for many years, I believe I know the steps needed to be taken for someone to drastically improve their gameplay, regardless of what their skill is. My approach to coaching is one that involves accountability, for both me (the teacher) and the student. I create a space where the student can be comfortable asking any and as many questions that they could have. Regardless of skill level, I strive to treat every student the same and want to make sure that each student gets the most out of his/her time. After just one session, a student can expect clear feedback in regards to what they can do to improve their gameplay. Over multiple sessions, a student can expect to see a clear difference in the way they approach the game in addition to a better fundamental understanding to how Halo is played.

Active Coaching Session: Game time with instant feedback (Off Stream)

Ever wonder how your games would go if you had feedback from a Pro on your team? Well, here you go! We will run the Ranked playlist of your choice and go super try-hard mode. Between games, we will debrief on the things you can improve on, and answer your questions from the previous game. Individual Film Review

In this lesson, we take a look at a film review of your choice. To get the most out of this lesson, the student should bring a film in which they did not play particularly well, or play particularly poorly. The reason for this is that it is easier to pinpoint a student's mistakes in a game in which they are playing "averagely" and in a game that is close, rather than a game that is clearly won or lost. For this film review, we go over each individual death you had as well as the scenarios leading up to them. The goal is to pinpoint any fundamental mistakes you may be making, as well as see if there are some tips and tricks you can incorporate into your gameplay (such as jumps and slides). At the end of the film, you will have a better idea of why you died in certain situations, and what you could do better next time. In addition, you will have a better fundamental understanding of how to play the map/game type in which we watched. Each film will take approximately 1 hour.

Written Film Review

I create a detailed write-up for a film of your choice. In this write-up, I review each death you have and explain what you did good, what you did that wasn't so good, and what you could have done better. I conclude with some tips for that general game type as well as highlighting any bad habits that were seen. (For example, if I see you wasting your nades consistently, that is an issue on any game type).

The 4-Week Training Plan

Getting better at Halo can be frustrating. It’s hard to know where to actually start in order for you to feel like you are improving. Do you have to work on your shot? Is it your overall awareness? Do you have certain bad habits that are getting you killed repeatedly? Of course, Halo is a game where you likely won’t see instant results, even if you know what you have to improve on. This is why I am offering a 4-week training program, for Halo players of any skill level. Whether you are just starting out into competitive Halo, or are a top amateur player trying to figure out what you need to improve on, this program will help you identify key areas in which you can improve in. This program includes 3 in-depth film reviews as well as game time in either the Ranked playlist or personal 1v1s. My goal for you at the end of the 4 weeks is for you to not only understand competitive Halo at a deeper level but for you to also see a noticeable difference in your gameplay. Note: It is recommended to choose different maps for each film session.
