I've always had immense respect for 1 on 1 competitions. The courage to not only give it your all, but to take a loss and learn from it, apply what you learned, and adapt has always made me fascinated with head to head competition. I've been passionate for the sport of soccer since I was young. I liked the concept of team games but I always wanted to purely test my own individual skills in a sport, which attracted my interest towards boxing and wrestling which I began training in later in life. Similar to real sports, my gaming competitive history tells a similar story. I loved Call Of Duty and the team aspect of it, especially playing under pro circuit rules such as "MLG Variant" and "CDL Variant". When I was young and first started getting into competitive gaming, I've always wondered what type of game I could indulge into that was purely 1 on 1. I wanted to compete in this type of environment because I felt that I would not have to rely on any teammates, I would solely rely on myself and my work ethic to help me get to where I wanted to be. Once I made this realization, I began to self search for a game I wanted to play that was 1 on 1 competition. I liked some fighting games and personally believed they involved a decent amount of skill. I played most of the Mortal Kombats when I was young along with bloody roar My sophomore year of high school I researched Mortal Kombat to see what the latest installment was (MK vs DC). I happened to stumble upon a new installment that was on its way to coming out later in the spring semester of my sophomore year, Mortal Kombat 2011 (MK9). I seen early gameplay of it and fell in love. I told myself I would become the best character specialist for at least one of the characters in the world (at the time I wanted to be the best Sektor player). My passion of being one of the best character specialists drove me to become good with any character I put my heart and work ethic into. As time went on, I played many characters and found myself being quite successful with a lot of them. I decided to sign up for tournaments, both online and offline, and eventually went to my first offline event ever which happened to be part of the pro circuit at MLG. This was the start of my official competitive career, making memorable upsets, becoming a bic breakout player of the event, and placing at a whopping 4th place, eliminating some of the best players in the history of Mortal Kombat 2011. Years went by and I took a break from fighting games. Later on, Mortal Kombat 11 was in development, which peaked my interest. I wanted to indulge fully into the competitive gaming world and reignite my competitive career. 2 years into the game, I've made many online top 8's, including a Pro Kompetition NA East top 8, won a couple of online events including a big series hosted by the MK11 pro commentator, Mr. Aquaman called the Kolosseum. One passion of mine since the early days of competing was to help create guides on how to play characters and how to play the game in general. I personally love sharing my knowledge and helping people grow, the satisfaction of helping someone learn something new is super rewarding! To this day I use the same techniques and tricks in overcoming matchups. The knowledge I posses is something I feel all top players have to become successful. Here at metafy, I will share my knowledge! Share my knowledge in efforts to better the community and help communicate to other players on how I see and interact with the game!
