Assisted ranking (Rookie to Gold)

This plan is for people that want to rank up in Street Fighter 6 and want to understand the game while doing it. I will sit with you during ranked mode, you will need to stream the game to me (discord streaming is fine) and I can give you pointers either while the fights go on or in between rounds and matches. We will also take a few minutes to train some specific aspects you may be struggling with to conquer your opponents. The time set is tentative and highly depends on the student's application of what they're learning and the will to practice.

Sessions Overview

Hour 1 - Rookie to Iron (learning the basics)

1 hour

In this lesson, we will focus on anti-airing, blocking and playing against fireballs. At the very bottom of the skill floor, most players only approach by jumping and throwing fireballs. This may even take you alone up to bronze.

Hour 3 - Bronze to silver (understanding opponents' styles)

1 hour

In this session we will start to learn how to "play the player matchup). We will start observing how the opponents want to play (rushdown, zoning, gimmicks etc) and adapt to their gameplan. Here I may be expecting the student to at least have their bread and butter combos down.

Hour 2 - Iron to Bronze (Understanding offence)

1 hour

In this session we will start to understand how to mount an offence, what are overheads, throws, corner guarding and how to use throws as well as starting to check opponents' defence with basic frame trapping.

Hour 4 - Silver to Gold (Bringing everything together)

1 hour

This will be the hardest hurdle to get through. By here players do have a game plan, a somewhat defined style and a decent understanding of the basics of the game. Achieving this will highly depend on your training during the module and in your free time. Conversions from mixups will matter a lot here, so we may work on extending combos from openings.
