For almost 10 years I ran a program dedicated to teaching players not only how to get better, but how to effectively train in both application and strengthening their mentality. This program ran for 7 days a week. If you booked 1 hour with me for 7 days that would be a lot more expensive than what this cohesive training program has to offer. I am reintroducing the program here through Metafy for singular focused training in the most important areas for a competitor to grow in. This will also be done with each lesson being one day per week unless we decide to continue going throughout the same day. Whether you or new to the game or a rising star, this is the training program for you.

Sessions Overview

Neutral

1 hour

The most important element of Smash Brothers across all titles is Neutral. You thought I was going to say tech skill? Absolutely not. What good is tech skill if you can't win basic interactions? In this section we will tackle: - What is neutral? - How to win neutral depending on your character? - How neutral changes depending on the matchup. - Grade your understanding of neutral through in game matches between each other. - Correct flaws in your decision making and thought process in the heat of a battle.

Advantage State & Disadvantage State

How tight is your combo game? Do you know when to apply pressure or do you normally allow your opponents to escape? Here we will be reviewing: - Your ability to combo/convert damage. - Your ability to follow/read DI. - Your understanding of your mains unique followups. - How to identify what advantage state is and when you are in it. - How to apply proper ledge pressure. - How to effectively juggle opponents. _________ You have been taking a beating often I see. You notice that more often than not that you can't land or get back on to the stage. Even when you grab the ledge you still feel trapped. Not to worry, I'll teach you how to: - Escape ledge pressure with mixups and timings. - Land after getting juggled from below. - When to be aggressive in your attempt to land and when to be patient. - What areas of the stage you want to control and why. - Why holding center stage is so valuable.

Introduction

In this lesson we review: - Character Pool - Tournament experience - Tournament Results - Competitive Goals - Your Region - Matchup Spread - Fears As you can see I am very interested in YOU as a person and player. I believe this is not only a fun way to lay down the foundation between us, but will also be the essential building blocks for your growth during your time with me.

Edge Guarding

Normally you are the one getting edge guarded so I am sure you are wondering how good it feels to consistently make it so that your opponent can't come back. Well, even if your character has terrible edge guarding I can teach you: - How to set up ledge traps from these situations. - When to forfeit stage control to go for an early kill with an edge guard. - Why it is important to not miss. - Why edge guarding is not just for killing, but for pressure and percentage.

Mentality & Closing Thoughts

You made it this far. A full week of training. By making it to this point I am hoping you see that I am a kickass instructor. If you hate me by the end then it either means "Damn he was good I wanna beat his ass" or "This dude can't teach for shit." Either way in this last meeting together we will revisit how you feel after every lesson that you have learned with me, your future plans. and any closing thoughts you may have about the Zero to Hero Program. I'll be sure to give you my thoughts on where I see you heading in the future and a letter grade at the end of the discussion. I'll miss you homie. Go do great things out there.

Defense

Why are you getting hit so much? You just can't seem to avoid it. You just can't help but get hit more than your opponent? I guess we need to go over: - Proper Defensive Tool Utilization. - When to Shield. - When to Roll. - When to Spotdodge. - When to just....Jump. - Why walking is better than running at times. - Wait you mean I don't have to shield to avoid damage? - What proper Spacing and improper spacing looks like.
