The Art of Inkling

My most recommended lesson. In this, I'll transform your Inkling play to become some of the greatest the world has ever seen. This is a five part series where we go through the following: - Basic game states; (Neutral, Advantage, Disadvantage) - Holding advantage; (Ledgetrapping, combo optimization) - Difficult matchups; (How to overcome our -2 matchups?) - Developing consistency; (Dictating the pace of the game) - Putting it all together; (Understanding Inkling enough to enable creative thought) Each session will be recorded. I'll give you homework to practice with after each session, and notes will be provided as well. Each session will be a mix of VOD review, live gameplay, and experimentation. Each of these sessions will help push the Inkling meta, so partaking in one will be super beneficial to not only you, but the greater playerbase!

Sessions Overview

Holding Advantage

1 hour

We will go over how to pressure the opponent as Inkling, break common ways the opponent attempts to escape (platform camping!), and learn technical routes that force the opponent to interact with you. On top of this, we will go over the importance of positioning over damage and how to create synergy in our game plan to more easily find kills.

Basic Game States

1 hour

We go over Inkling's advantage, disadvantage, and neutral. We aim to break common bad habits, build new good ones, and understand how the character generally works. For example, we will learn why the low profile is good and break common misconceptions about it. This will help us set the right foundation for the remainder of the plan, which will go over the more technical aspects of Inkling.

Difficult Matchups

1 hour

Spending an entire hour on this is almost non-negotiable as difficult matchups tend to expose our weaknesses as players. We will go over how to play Inkling when she's forced to stray away from her normal game plan, and how her most non-conventional tools must be used to guarantee victory.

Developing Consistency

1 hour

We will then go over how to play in such a way where the opponent has difficulty achieving an upset victory over you, or you can guarantee the opponent has to work hard to beat you. Indeed, this section will go over risk-reward with Inkling, and how to optimize that in your favor in any given scenario or match.

Putting It All Together

1 hour

This final session will be used to wrap up any outstanding questions or concerns you may have, as well as anything I may feel you still need to work on. We will spend this lesson analyzing your progress and creating a long-term plan for improvement. We will play a couple games together, but this is pretty much your time to use me as a resource in any way you see fit :3
