I switched from a GameCube controller to a SmashBox in 2018 to get rid of my hand pain; and I have never looked back, as I am now the best player in Project M/+ to play on a box type controller. Whether it is for Melee, PM/+ or Ultimate, you can count on me to teach you everything I know about the controller, how to get good with it, and how to exploit it to its maximum potential in just 3 lessons.

Character Specifics and Techniques

1 hour

In this lesson we'll go over the more advanced maneuvers of the game that you'll be doing constantly throughout a game, as well as some specific ones your character will be doing, so you can learn proper finger positioning, movements you want to avoid and motions you'll want to familiarize yourself with. By the end of this lesson you will have everything you need to catch up to your previous controller level of play.

Master and personalize for your play

1 hour

In this final lesson we will flip the theory on its head and explore all other possibilities you can go for to make sure your SmashBox experience is optimized for yourself exclusively. I will share with you advanced tricks like option selects and alternative input methods, and get you thinking like a rectangle master. By the end of this lesson, you will know as much as I do about the SmashBox controller.

The Basics

1 hour

I will walk you through the designer tool and profile system, show you a bit of theory on ergonomics, and give you a base layout to start messing around with while practicing. At the end of this lesson you will have all the tools necessary to start playing and practicing basics of the game without having to fight against the controller.
