Sessions Overview

The Platform Fighter

30 minutes

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is what is known as a platform fighter--its fights encourage not just horizontal movement across a flat plane, but vertical movement upon platforms, thus the name. Attacks are simplified for the most part, and you can direct your attack from a variety of angles. This first lesson will go over the nature of the platform fighter, and how to operate within it. This lesson includes: -Comparing platform fighters to 2D fighters. -The object of the game. -The different parts of the stage.

The Basic Fundamentals of Smash

30 minutes

Now it's time to go over the actual gameplay of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Yes, there is a basic tutorial that exists within the game, but this lesson rectifies what that tutorial doesn't apply, while staying true to beginner concepts. In this lesson, you'll learn your buttons, and what these buttons are good for. This lesson includes: -Overview of each movement option. -Overview of each attack button and their uses. -Overview of each defensive button and their uses. -Basic recovery.

The Final Step Toward Competition...

30 minutes

Now it's time to venture forth to see what tournaments have to offer. And what better way to inspire the journey to come than to display a glimpse as to what Smash has to offer. We'll over some of the more exciting features, such as the combos that can delete stocks! This lesson includes: -Combos -Basic edgeguards -Showcase of renown players and moments in Smash Ultimate’s competitive history.
