Alot happened in the 2025 Baltimore regional championship for the pokemon tcg. I went 7-0-1 to 7-2-1 playing regidrago vstar, and got 11th. Now let me share my experience throughout the event. DAY 1: First off my round one opponent played gardevoir ex a slow paced deck that does alot of damage in the late game. He bricked game 1 and game 2 and he was too slow to set his gardevoir ex so I just took the dub with kyurem and canceling cologne. Round 2 I played against a baby moon which won game one against me due to getting a counter catcher off my iono to 2. Games 2 & 3 I won due to me iono’ing and using kyurem constantly paired with a couple of dragapult attacks to string it all together. Round 3 I am 2-0-0 now and played against a Raging bolt. Goodra paired with a iono to a pult to take 4 prize cards just wiped them game 1. Game 2 I lost due to not being able to set up a drago combined with poor draws. Game 3 I won because I attacked with dragapult before he did followed by a radiant charizard attack paired with an iono. After round 3 played out I went to go get some lunch and had some fun talking to my friends about what and who they played against. Round 4 I played against a baby moon and this was one of my top 3 toughest matches throughout the event. Game 1 I lost due to them drawing out of the iono with their pokestop hitting an earthen vessel, counter catcher, and a pokegear. Game 2 we played a full game that came down to the wire where they whiffed what they needed so we went to game 3. When game 3 started there was only about 7 minutes left and there was definitely no chance of either of us winning without donking our opponent, so we started and turn 3 of the game my opponent drew a extra card by accident and I got a double prize loss meaning I only had to take 4 more prizes instead of 6. In the end it came down to the wire and the last 3 cards in their deck were the cards that they needed to tie the game ultimately making me the winner. Round 5 I played against Lugia and won with a 2-0 record. Game 1 he had a hard time setting up a lugia and I just went for the one they set up. Game 2 I pulted their only chichino making them unable to attack for the win. Round 6 I am 5-0-0 and playing against another one of my top 3 hardest matches. I played Coby H and he was playing lugia. I lost game 1 due to not being able to support a second regidrago vstar, and game 2 outplayed him by using ogerpon to knock out his squakabilly and lumineon. Game 3 did not finish because we didn't have enough time to so we ended up tying. Going into Round 7 I played against a baby moon and won 2-0 due to him not setting up 1 turn and game 2 I attacked first. Round 8 I played against Justin Templer, a great player, I won 2-1. Game 1 I attacked into a 1 prizer while he attacked into a 2 prizer ultimately being ahead in prizes. Game 2 I won by attacking into a 2 prize first. Game 3 it came down to the wire and I ended up winning due to him not being able to get a goodra vstar in the discard after I iono’d him. DAY 2: I was second seed going into day 2 and my record was 7-0-1. Round 9 I played against a raging bolt that won game 1 because they drew incredibly well and they drew out of my iono’s whilst I was bricking. Game 2 I ionio’d them and they couldn't draw out of it giving me the win. Game 3 I couldn't attack till turn 5 causing me to lose. Round 10 I am still playing for my win and in and played against a lugia which won game one due to me milling my sinnoh with my vstar. I couldn't grab it back because I had to grab 2 energy switches to attack. Game 2 I drew normal and pulted their iron hands while playing my sinnoh for the game. Game 3 I bricked and couldn't attack till turn 4 while they swept my board and won using their fourth boss. I ended up going 0-2-0 on day 2 causing me to lose my chance at getting top 8. I still had a great time seeing my friends and making new ones.
