Top 20 melee player for over 5 years. One of the only players to take a set off Armada. The Mango Champion. Taking coaching sessions with me will leave you with a concrete plan on how to improve in many areas in-game and out. I believe having consistent good play needs to have an organized game plan and life routine. I can teach all levels from beginner to top pro play. My commentary and lessons go from a general approach that narrows down to specific play. I prefer keeping gameplay simple and easy so you can win more without trying. And tell me how you want me to teach you. I can be nice and supportive with lots of forgiveness. Or I can be harsh and yell and continuously point out bad habits. Whichever works best for you. Even in 2022 I can still make top 8 at majors with full time + work of 80-100 hour weeks. I will be able to help set a foundation for you to get better results and make you enjoy the game more. Feel free to also ask anything about life, school, pre-med, science and whatever.
I've started playing Melee on Anther's ladder in August 2016. After finding out about an offline scene in Germany I attended my first regional in April 2018. I won the 2nd tournament I entered and established myself as a regional threat. Ever since I've rapidly climbed up in the rankings. Shortly after beginning my offline journey I started developing pain in my thumb which rendered playing on a GameCube Controller unfeasible going forward. So I switched to the B0XX in March 2019. I had a huge motivation boost as I didn't want to fall behind the competition and knew I'd have to put in extra work to catch up again. I ended up climbing further in the ranks despite switching to a new controller type. I had my first breakthrough performance at Superbou 3 in August 2019 where I ended up getting top 8 while beating Ice and Jah Ridin'. That tournament was special to me as it was my first major top 8 placement and since I was the first german player who was able to take a set off Ice in many years. Ever since then my results kept improving and to this day I've beaten the vast majority of european top players. I'm mentioning all that because I think I have a good understanding on how to rapidly improve at games and can help out others doing the same as long as the motivation is there. I started coaching in Kone's Academy in July 2021. Prior to that I have done voluntary analysis with friends who were eager to improve. So far the feedback has been mostly positive which gave me confidence in my coaching abilities. I offer coaching for all characters as I consider my knowledge of this game to be pretty deep and versatile across the cast. The way I'm coaching my students fully depends on the student's needs. A live coaching session usually consists of analyzing a set together by sharing my screen while focusing on a certain aspect (matchup specific or general, doesn't matter). I try to explain key interactions in detail so my students get a better understanding of why certain things work/don't work and simplify them on a macro perspective afterwards. In my opinion that's very important so students understand why they're doing things instead of just doing them. That way they're able to transfer that knowledge to other interactions and find solutions themselves in the future instead of relying on others to tell them every option.
I have a lot of experience coaching in melee due to being a member of Kone's Academy with many of my students praising my approach to coaching. In our sessions I plan to break down your game into several different areas to show the aspects in which you, the student, can improve. I prioritise making the process as simple and easy to understand as possible, usually ending my sessions with a daily routine that will help you focus on refining your skills in the most efficient manner. I also encourage my students to message me between their lessons so I can keep up with their progress. This is an example lesson so you can have an idea of my coaching style and the overall process of a lesson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkRRLxbozi8 Lastly if your interested in educational melee content or just wanna have some banter join the discord quite a nice wee community in here https://discord.gg/zz4C8an
As one of the best coaches from Europe, I take a lot of pride in creating interactive and visually engaging lessons. I ensure that lessons are well structured and personalized to the needs of the student. At the end of each, I will identify the main actions that the student needs to work on after our session, to ensure they make even more progress before our next session. This is provided via a Google Docs plan. Throughout sessions, I will also concentrate on mentality, and how to improve this aspect of your competitive play. It is also super important to be as versatile as possible as a coach or else miscommunication will happen. I have found a lot of ways to adapt to different players’ thought processes and practice habits - so I know I can help everyone out! When it comes to my experience, I've been doing coaching for two years now, I’ve had over 40 students and completed 200 lessons with them! It doesn't really matter which character you play - I can help you get better. If you are uncertain about coaching, please book my 30 minutes consultation lesson. Here, we will analyse one game together, and from there we can discuss a tailored approach to your coaching, so that you can be best informed to choose to continue with myself as your coach
In 2013, I started both studying psychology and playing Melee competitively. Years later I'm now working as a psychologist and I am the best player in Switzerland and top 13 in Europe. Here I can offer you mental coaching and psychological support for whatever games or activities you wish or I can give you pure Melee coaching. I've been working as a psychologist since 2021 where I'm used to identify high potential individuals and provide them psychological support to help them fulfill their needs and goals. This gives me experience to deal with various problems like procrastination, emotional instability, social disconnection, etc.. I use evidence-based methods and tools to offer you a holistic support, meaning that we can take care of your sleep schedule, physical condition, social connections as much as dealing with anxieties, and managing/using stress as much as optimizing your practice routine to be better faster. As for Melee, I built my style and pushed Luigi's meta that lead me to be the best in Switzerland, 12th in Norcal PR (summer 2018) and now top 13 in Europe. I have done Melee coaching on a regular basis since 2020 mostly for Luigi mains that want to break out. I think I'm one of the best people in the world to teach Luigi for each of my options have been consciously weighted. Thus, it is easy for me to elaborate my thoughts on precises questions. If you are hungry for theorycrafting and flowchart strategy, you will be served!
