How to Play Ike
Over the course of 5 sessions, I will teach you the fundamentals of Ike's kit. Each session will have a specific theme. The first will focus on movement, spacing and execution, the second will focus on Ike's strengths, the third will focus on Ike's weaknesses, the fourth will focus on honing player identity through Ike, and the final session will be a reflection on your improvement thus far, either through games with me or VOD review.
Sessions Overview
Lesson 2: Pressure and Frametraps
1 hourIke excels at keeping opponents pressured, and in frametrapping with his active disjoints. In this session, I'll demonstrate how Ike pressures opponents, and will define and explain how he maintains his advantage through frametraps.
Lesson 3: Antiairs and Disadvantage
1 hourIke struggles to combat powerful antiairs in neutral, and has a difficult time landing and recovering to stage. In this session, I will teach you how to mitigate Ike's disadvantage, including landing mixups, recovery routes, and antiair counterplay.
Lesson 1: Movement
1 hourMovement is key for Ike, as his kit is built around spacing. In this session, we will discuss how to perfect your execution, so that your ideas are seamlessly translated into in-game actions.
Lesson 4: Confidence and Discipline
1 hourIke is a malleable character, and can be played in a myriad of ways. In this session, we will discuss your unique player identity, and I will guide you into developing your own understanding of Ike’s mental demands, including confidence and discipline.
Lesson 5: The Ultimate Test
1 hourThis session will be a celebration of your improvement, and a reflection on how far you've come. Either through games or VOD review, we will compare your starting play to your current play, and celebrate your progress!
