The majority of practice for Pioneer happens on Magic Online. This is a good session to get you up to speed on how best to use MTGO and how to avoid losing to misunderstanding the client. If you are already familiar with MTGO we can skip this lesson.

Play through a MTGO Pioneer league with you piloting to discuss play patterns, sideboarding options, matchup plans, and deck choices. We will go over general play patterns with your deck, pain points you are currently experiencing with Pioneer or your deck specifically, and how to overcome them!

We will look at one match from the previous league or from a league you played outside of the training plan and break down each turn in depth from mulligans, to decisions made, to sideboarding. The goal here is to maximize the learning process by looking at a game objectively outside of playing it.

We will play Pre and Post sideboard games of a specific matchup you want more experience in mastering. We can discuss lines openly and strategies to improve the specific matchup without the pressure of winning or losing a real match. This is like sparring, the goal is to learn and train your instincts to help in tournament play.

We'll walk through the top performing decks in Pioneer, what they do, what cards their leverage to win, their win conditions, how they play versus different styles of decks, and what makes them top decks in the format.
