Intro to Melee!
(We can do both hours all at once, or separate them - up to you!) If necessary, we'll start by listing out the traits of each character that interests you, and we'll try to narrow down that list so you can get started with a character. Next, we'll create a framework for improvement by listing out the 4 things (in order of importance) that Melee as a game values in terms of results, and why practicing certain aspects of the game is more advantageous than practicing others. We'll also discuss learning mentality vs. performance mentality and their distinctions. After that, if applicable, we'll write up a proper execution/tech skill training regimen that shouldn't be too overwhelming, but should get you feeling comfortable with moving around in Melee. Finally, we'll analyze a match! The match can be either of you playing or of someone else, and I'll teach you what to look for when analyzing, so that you'll be able to analyze on your own without feeling overwhelmed by everything going on in a match. By learning how to learn, you set yourself up for being able to notice how you lost neutral even while you're playing an actual match, and this should propel you towards making adaptations quickly.
