Hi! I'm Joshua AKA Dominator! Smash has a bunch of great questions. How do you go from going 2-2 in bracket to winning your local? How do you push past that annoying plateau and reach the next level? How do I become better? Well no matter the skill level you are at; if you want to improve dramatically at Super Smash Bros Ultimate, you came to the right place! I have a lot of competitive experience in Smash Ultimate. I specialize in Mario and Joker but I would say I have a lot of knowledge on the vast majority of the roster. I have been playing Smash for right about 7 years now and I am currently #1 on the South Florida Power Ranking (https://www.ssbwiki.com/Florida_Power_Rankings/South_Florida_Power_Rankings#Winter_2023). I have unfortunately not been able to go to a lot of events out of region but I still get solid performances like 25th at CEO 2023, 17th at SWT LCQ 2021, and I have tons of notable wins like Ned, Anathema, ChunkyKong, Jake, JMafia, ChocoTaco, Riku, KirbyKid, 8BitMan, Uncivil Ninja, and more! I am always in the grindset and am learning new stuff every day, so I'm sure my results will become even better soon! Here is my profile if you want to see more about my results (https://smashdata.gg/smash/ultimate/player/Dominator?id=1052472) In terms of coaching experience, I have helped a lot of people in my local scene improve significantly at this game. Students of mine showing dedication that used to get 9th at locals are now getting top 6, sometimes even top 3 at extremely stacked locals. I have taught my students to overcome their bracket demons and fix their weaknesses to reach their next level. If you have never played at a local and/or feel like you underperform, that is also okay! I have had coaching experiences with students that have never gone to locals before and end up getting borderline top 8 at large local tournaments! I have a lot of confidence and patience in whoever I teach, so as long as you show motivation to getting better, I guarantee my session will help in some way! ("it's about drive, it's about power, we stay hungry, we devour" - Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock) If I had to describe my coaching in one word, I'd say it's "fundamentals". That is the style I prefer to use when improving at Smash so my coaching will reflect that. The best part about fundamental coaching is that it teaches you to become a better player, which translates to every character in the game in some way instead of just one specific character. Although if you need help with execution or how to perform a specific technique with a character, I can help with that too! Some topics discussed might include: - Your game plan entering a match - Optimal Aggression / Optimal Patience - Mentality improvement - How to adapt faster - Improving spatial awareness - What you did right and what you can be doing better - Answers to any question you might have - AND MUCH MORE!!!!! :D Overall, my coaching aims to not just improve you at your character, but a player as a whole! If you really want to get good at this game, I'm your guy to get coached by!
